Austria has been tightening regulations on access to its territory since Tuesday, after two months of restrictions associated with the coronavirus pandemic, informs DPA. People vaccinated against COVID-19 and those who have gone through the disease, as well as those with a negative COVID-19 test, will be able to enter Austria from Tuesday.

For the past two months, people not vaccinated against the new coronavirus have not been allowed to enter Austrian territory.

For the tourism industry, it is important that the country can receive as many tourists as possible for the rest of the winter season, most of which will probably come from Germany.

As of March 5, almost all restrictions associated with the new coronavirus will be lifted in Austria. Only wearing the FFP2 sanitary mask will remain mandatory in certain public spaces.

An exception, however, is the city of Vienna, where local authorities want to maintain some restrictions for the time being, for example in the field of gastronomy, by restricting access to the general public – only those with proof of vaccination against COVID-19 or passing through the disease. being able to enter restaurants.

The seven-day incidence rate, which until recently was 2,200 cases per 100,000 population, has begun to show a declining trend in Austria. And the situation in Austrian hospitals, especially in intensive care units, is stable.
