Michelle Obama announces the release of her second book

A new book by former first lady Michelle Obama will offer readers “fresh stories and insightful reflections on change, challenge and power”, according to her editor, writes The Guardian, quoted by news.ro.

“The Light We Carry”, which will be published in November, is the second book signed by Michelle Obama, after the bestseller “Becoming” which was released in November 2018.

She announced the new book on social media, saying in a video that “a lot has happened” since she published Becoming, including “an insurrection” and “a rising tide of hatred, bigotry and intolerance.”

She also said that all this made her feel “unbalanced” and “vulnerable and, sometimes, scared”. As a result, he reflected a lot on the question “how to channel our frustration into something positive?”.

The result is “The Light We Carry,” which Obama described as “kind of a toolbox” and “a collection of some of the insights and practices that I’ve gathered over the years to help me to keep myself balanced”.

The book will be released by Penguin Random House globally on November 15, four years after “Becoming”.

“Becoming” is a chronicle of Michelle Obama’s journey from her childhood in the South Side of Chicago to her experiences as the black first lady of the USA. It has been translated into 50 languages ​​and has sold more than 17 million copies in all formats worldwide, according to the publisher.
